How Often Should You Detail a Car in Missouri?
Detailing frequency isn't one number — it depends on where the car sleeps and what our weather throws at it. A garaged commuter and a truck parked under a maple tree need very different schedules.
Winter: salt is the real enemy
Missouri road treatment is hard on paint edges, wheels and undercarriage. Through winter, frequent rinses matter more than full details. Protection applied in the fall — sealant or coating — is what carries the car through.
Spring: the reset detail
March through May is when we do the most correction work. Salt film, brake dust and winter grime come off, the interior gets a full extraction after months of wet boots, and fresh protection goes on before pollen and sap season.
Summer: sap, bugs and UV
Tree sap and bug splatter etch clear coat fast in July heat. If the car parks outside under trees, plan a maintenance detail mid-summer rather than waiting for fall.
A simple schedule
Garaged, low mileage: full detail twice a year. Parked outside, daily driver: full detail every 3–4 months. Kids, dogs or work truck: interior every 2–3 months, exterior twice a year.
With a ceramic coating in place, exterior visits drop to an annual inspection and maintenance wash.
